Canon T70 35mm film camera with Vivitar 24mm f2.8 lens
Sold Out
I really dig the Canon T70. It's a funky looking 1980s camera that has a 1990s look with auto film advance and rewind but features the old Canon FD lens mount. One big feature of this camera is that you can set the light meter to average the whole frame or put it on "partial" to get a semi-spot meter effect, which works well for me when shooting in shutter priority mode. With partial metering, you can easily pick what part of your frame to meter, then reframe while still holding down the shutter to maintain your light meter setting, then shoot.
The camera is in good cosmetic condition with a little normal wear, including small scrapes on the pentaprism hump. The biggest issue is that the metal lens mount ring has a little lateral give to it -- maybe a fraction of a millimeter. It does not seem to be at any risk of falling out and I don't recall it having any effect on photos I've taken with the camera.
The lens shows a lot of external paint wear and the glass contains some dust and what looks like a tiny hair or two. But I remember getting good images from this lens, and it's pretty rare as a 24mm prime. The biggest issue with the lens is that the name plate on the front of the lens has come off. It's currently being held in place by a UV filter that's included with the lens. Just a mechanical/cosmetic issue that should not affect image quality.
I remember shooting with both this camera and lens separately and getting good results from each, but I'm not sure which photos I have come from this gear, so I'm unable to show examples. So the camera is priced pretty cheaply as a result.
I haven't tested the camera with a flash.
Battery not included.
