Minolta XD-11 35mm camera with MD Rokkor-X 50mm f1.7 lens

$ 45.00

The Minolta XD-11 was a great 35mm camera that Minolta developed in collaboration with Leica -- the Leica version of this camera was the Leica R4.

This particular camera is in pretty rough shape with a dent on the left side of the camera (when seen from the front) and the typical leatherette contraction of this model -- see photos.

The only functional issue with the camera as far as I can tell is that it does not display the set shutter speed in the viewfinder. The light meter still works and you can still shoot just fine - when on manual, though, you have to lower the camera from your eye and check the shutter speed dial to confirm that it matches the suggested shutter speed. (There's a tungsten wire inside the camera that enables the set shutter speed display. Unfortunately, that tungsten wire has come loose. It does not seem to affect any of the other mechanics of the camera.) There's another version of this camera called the XD-5 that doesn't include the set shutter speed display, so functionally, this camera works like an XD-5.

This camera body has not been film tested, but all the other mechanics seem to operate properly and the light meter works, giving me the exact same reading as my baseline test camera.

The lens is an MD 50mm f1.7 prime from Minolta. The lens has some visible dust and haze and some small marring on the edge of the rear element -- see photos. From my experience testing one of these lenses that was actually filled with fungus, I doubt that kind of marring will have any noticeable effect on actual photographs, but I can't guarantee it. I haven't film tested this lens, but the focus and aperture seem to work fine and the lens body is in decent shape with some paint wear and no dents.

I haven't tested the camera with a flash.

Batteries not included.
